Our annual Boston Butt Fundraiser is underway. For $30, you can order a freshly prepared Boston Butt to be delivered during the Fall Reunion. For more information, contact the office.
According to Wikipedia, Boston butt is the most common cut used for "pulled pork," a staple of barbecue in the southern area of the United States. Pulled pork is prepared by smoking at lower cooking temperatures (typically 200-250 degrees) and is then pulled from the bone and served with or in a barbecue sauce.
Today, several members of the Valley and their family members, along with some special guests from the Lions Club, helped outfit approximately 450 children with new pairs of shoes. It was the first of two Mercy Shoe Fund distributions this fall. The next will occur on Sunday, Dec. 1.
